1 ELEMENTARY FRENCH I
(CAN FREN 2;CANFREN SEQ A: FRENCH 1+2)
Prerequisite: None | Lecture: 5 hours. UC:CSU 5 UNITS
First course in understanding, speaking, reading, and writing French. Introduction to the cultures and civilization of the French-speaking world. Intended primarily for students with little or no knowledge of French. Acceptable for credit: CSUN: French 101 + 101C.
2 ELEMENTARY FRENCH II
(CAN FREN 4;CANFREN SEQ A: FRENCH 1+2)
Prerequisite: French 1 | Lecture: 5 hours. UC:CSU 5 UNITS
Continuation of French 1. Acceptable for credit: CSUN: French 102 & 102C.
3 INTERMEDIATE FRENCH I
(CAN FREN 8;CANFREN SEQ B: FRENCH 3+4)
Prerequisite: French 2 or equivalent | Lecture: 5 hours. UC:CSU 5 UNITS
Review and development of grammatical concepts learned in previous courses. Amplification of vocabulary and practice in composition. Introduction to literature and further study of culture and civilization through short stories. Acceptable for credit: CSUN: French 204.
4 INTERMEDIATE FRENCH II
(CAN FREN 10;CANFREN SEQ B:FRENCH 3+4)
Prerequisite: French 3 or 6 semesters of high school French | Lecture: 5 hours. UC:CSU 5 UNITS
Continuation of French 3. Acceptable for credit: CSUN: French 208.

Welcome to the Los Angeles Mission College ESL website. Our ESL program offers intensive English instruction that ranges from beginning language skills to advanced level composition courses. 1 INTRODUCTION TO LANGUAGE AND LINGUISTICS
Prerequisite: None | Lecture: 3 hours. UC:CSU 3 UNITS
Same as Anthropology 104 and English 105.
Course is a summary of what is known about human language; the unique nature of human language, its structure, its universality, and its diversity; language in its social and cultural setting; language in relation to other aspects of human inquiry and knowledge.

Ofrecer una formación especializada en los diferentes ámbitos de estudio e investigación para el abordaje de los fenómenos literarios en Galicia -y, complementariamente, en otras literaturas afines de lengua portuguesa- y su relevancia en la configuración de los varios modos de entender la identidad gallega. Introducir los alumnos en las formulaciones teóricas y en los procedimientos y métodos adecuados para la investigación científica en el ámbito de los estudios de la literatura y de la cultura.
