Master of Arts in English at Liberty University

Liberty University’s Master of Arts in English is an advanced English degree that will further develop your ability to analyze literature, language, writing, and criticism relevant to teaching and non-teaching fields. The program allows you to engage in meaningful research and writing, grounded in a Biblical worldview.

Students completing the Master of Arts in English will study the languages and literatures of other cultures, understand the value of the English language in the development of Western history and culture, and master competencies in oral and written communication.

You will also develop analytical reasoning and critical reading skills with a variety of texts, develop research skills and technological literacy, exercise responsibility and professionalism with moral and ethical excellence according to the Judeo-Christian tradition, and learn to make spiritual, intellectual, and emotional application of material in your personal life and in society.
